im appropriating internet culture by posting online
while this makes some sense, was it really necessary to portray this as a strawman comic?
this really isnt a strawman argument :ssssssss
(unless i am hilariously misreading something)
uh yeah it’s hilarious how fucking straw man it is unless you actually think social justice bloggers are like this in that case HAHAHa bless your poor little heart
as i said i might be misreading this, no need for any hostility or w/not
the idea that i had was that these are corner-case people who overextend their views unnecessarily;;;;;;
like im not a dudebro by any stretch of the imagination, im just of the opinion that not literally everything is cultural appropriation???
(the last panel is pretty god damn strawman now that i read this over so hey, that’s a concession to me being wrong)
it’s not like dread is heavily apropos (i am pretty sure it’s closely tied to rastafari but i dont think white people know about that for anything but weed (following rastafari for weed is probably appropriation in and of itself but whatever))
the thing about cultural appropriation is that the smallest seeming thing is still appropriation; of course Katy Perrys performance at the AMAs was racist, but is it a problem if someone wants to dread their hair but has european hair? naturally i want to say no but keep in mind that black women basically had to force their hair to be like european hair in order to really fit in society and that european hair is still a big spending point (weave, perms, etc)
to me though, yes i feel like dreading while white is actually probably racist because you know, black people are oft targeted for dreads (remember that football player at the Super Bowl who was branded a thug? he had dreads) and to dread while white is seen as a “fashion statement” in the same vein as “indian” headdresses
and yes a lot of things you see are actually cultural appropriation im for real. jazz? if you listen to jazz a lot of it was literally stolen off our hands and sold by white people. I hear that the same thing happened to rock and country but idk about that. In fact, rap is actually being taken in the same way as jazz is; more and more people are seeing it as an acceptable thing to do for white people (which isn’t bad until you have people like macklemore making tons of money while acting concerned about his white privilege and then blatantly ignoring it an album later
and you read it wrong very very heavily because the op used a very broad stroke to paint many if not all sjws as racists and purposely decided to show the sjw speaking all over the black person because that’s totally what ALL sjws do right y’all?
its a very heavy very thick strawman that just calls all sjws racist and :/
in a funny-weird stroke of irony&white privilege the op decided to make the sjw white, because apparently no self-respecting black person would ever align themself with social justice lol
my bad if i came off as hostile im tired and this comic put me in a shit mood
also even worse i accidentally put this post on my main blog and im on mobile so it was a big hassle fixing it im sorry
